Wobble Chair helps Spina Bifida Occulta

With Spina Bifida Occulta there is often a loss of the interspinous ligament between the 5th lumbar and the sacrum. This situation can lead to instability with spinal flexion and pain. The only other structures in the area to contribute to stabilization are the tonic postural muscles. If the tonic muscles also become damaged then a serious painful low back situation can result. I have a spina bifida occulta and had 25 years of low back pain. There is a chiropractic technique called Pettibon which uses a device called a Wobble Chair which can strengthen the tonic muscles in the low back and stabilize this spina bifida situation. I am a chiropractor and an acupuncturist and never had lasting relief until the last couple of years since using the wobble chair. It is the only thing that worked for me.
