Gotta Serve Somebody
A friend of minePatrick, does a daily sales tip and this one was great! He was visiting with several clients over lunch who were discussing how to get the most value out of memberships in associations, chambers, and other organizations. I agree with their conclusion. Just showing up IS a big part of it, AND serving is another important element. Look for ways to serve others and the return on your investment will be well worth your time.
“Whether as an ambassador, or a board member, or part of a committee, serving the organization itself is a great way to demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and, in many cases, your expertise in your chosen field.
Actually, that attitude of serving others is what can make you truly successful in selling.
When you serve with integrity, people will sense your genuine interest in helping them solve their problem instead of just helping yourself to a commission check.
So if you’ve been really focused on yourself lately and find that you are not being as successful as you would like, start concentrating on helping others instead of just helping yourself.
Remember: you gotta serve somebody to truly prosper.”
